New Library Director Hired to Start Monday,  January 9, 2017

12/4-6, The final Library Director candidate visited Kennett, met with the Chester County Library System, toured the region, visited the


12/5 - 12/14  The Kennett Library’s Adult Literacy program collects 200 bags of rice for the Kennett Area Community Services annual Christmas Basket event.


12/4-6, The final Library Director candidate visited Kennett, met with the Chester County Library System, toured the region, visited the library, met with the staff and presented  “The Perfect Library” to the Trustees.   


12/8, The Library Director Search Committee met and unanimously selected Megan Walters as their choice  for the new Library Director.


12/12, The Kennett Library received a very generous unsolicited donation of $33,006 to the New Library Capital Campaign.


12/13, The Kennett Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously to hire Megan Walters for the position of Library Director.  The board also approved the 2017 budget presented by Treasurer Bill McLachlan.


12/20, The Kennett Library Annual Campaign letters were mailed to all households of registered voters in all 8 municipalities (16,700), the largest annual appeal effort in the library’s history.
